Department of Fundamental Jurisprudence and Constitutional Law

Created on September 1, 2016 by merging the Department of State and Legal Disciplines (until 2000 – the Department of Theory of State and Law) of the Ukrainian Academy of Banking (heads of departments: Zharenko VF, Tkachenko AA) and the Department of Theory and History of State and Law (until 2014 – Department of History) Sumy State University (heads: Miroshnichenko MV, Belikova LY, Apanasenko OT, Panchenko AI, Osadchy Yu. G., Nesterenko VA, Vlasenko VM, Sukhonos VV) in the Department of Constitutional Law, Theory and History of State and Law. On June 25, 2020 it was reorganized into the Department of Fundamental Jurisprudence and Constitutional Law.

The Department of Fundamental Jurisprudence and Constitutional Law is a structural unit of the Academic and Research Institute of Law of Sumy State University, which conducts educational and methodological activities in “Law” and “International Law” and provides fundamental training to students from the first year of their studies. legal knowledge – the key to successful mastery of special disciplines in the future.

The main tasks of the department are:

  • in the organization and implementation at the appropriate scientific and methodological levels of the educational process in fundamental jurisprudence and disciplines of constitutional and legal dogma in order to train highly qualified specialists;
  • in the implementation of research on the profile of the department, training of scientific and pedagogical staff and
  • their training;
    in providing organizational and educational work with students.
