- to promote an excellence in teaching and improve the quality of professional training of Sumy State University students by developing a course dedicated to the in-depth study of public participation within the framework of European integration;
- to raise the awareness of students, alumni, civil society organizations and residents of Sumy region about the features of public participation, to promote the spread of positive EU practices regarding the use of public participation tools, to encourage its implementation into national practice;
- reach out to a wider public and spread knowledge about the best practices of citizen participation: to wider society (beyond academia and specialized audiences) bringing the EU closer to the public;
- promote and encourage innovation in teaching and research, including launching open online course and the use of mixed learning, generate knowledge and ideas in support of EU
