The short-term results of the project:

1) developed an educational course “Local Democracy: European Best Practices for Ukraine” for students,

2) online version of the course “Local Democracy: European Best Practices for Ukraine” for local deputies, local government officials, civil servants, other stakeholders,

2) materials research proceedings on the results of the panel discussion with the participation of local deputies, local government officials, civil servants, teachers and students;

3) preparation of a textbook and academic articles on the subject of the project.

Mid-term project results:

1) teaching the course ” Local Democracy: European Best Practices for Ukraine”;

2) engaging local deputies, local government officials, civil servants, other stakeholders in studying the online course;

3) publishing a textbook and academic articles on the subject of the project.

Long-term project results:

1) an open electronic source of the project, which will serve as a platform for communication between teachers, academics, students, local deputies of different states to share research results and inform the public about the tools of local democracy;

2) open online course ” Local Democracy: European Best Practices for Ukraine” for the general public, available free of charge on the OpenCourseWare SSU platform;

3) as a result of project activities of a permanent building up a network of cooperation for the study of EU local democracy instruments and successful practices of their implementation in Ukraine.

4) development of civic competence of all categories of project participants, raising their level of legal awareness and formation of practical skills in applying effective tools of local democracy;

5) applying knowledge about European instruments of local democracy by students in the study of different legal disciplines “Fundamentals of European Union Law”, “Legal principlesof governance in European countries”.
