Summary of the project:
Evolution of the modern Ukraine is inseparably linked with European values, in particular the rule of law, legality, democracy, and equality. Since 2014 in Ukraine implementation of democratic reform as well as the application of various practices of public participation have been established. It is valuable for Ukraine to study the European experience regarding the use of public participation tools and their implementation at the national level. It is obvious that the use of public participation tools in Ukraine remains insufficient due to the following factors: lack of proper legal regulation of these indicated tools, insufficient awareness of citizens about existing tools, traditionally low activity of citizens. A separate problem is insufficient interaction of organs of state, local self-government with representatives of civil society, lack of dialogue.
The implementation of the project should contribute to solving the mentioned problems, increasing the interest of Ukrainian citizens in the European Union in general, and above all, in the tools of public participation used in the EU countries, understanding and spreading European values in Ukraine.
