Associate Professor of the Institute of Law Olha Stohova Took Part in the University of Liverpool Event “Amazing Ukraine: From Culture to Science”

Olga STOGOVA, Associate Professor of the Department of Fundamental Jurisprudence and Constitutional Law, took part in a special event of the University of Liverpool “Amazing Ukraine: From Culture to Science”, which is dedicated to the culture, science and history of Ukraine.

As part of the “Ukraine Weeks in the UK”, visitors were invited to discover unexpected cultural connections and scientific achievements of Ukrainians.

The program included a lecture “The Beatles and Ukraine”, which explains how Beatlemania reached Soviet Ukraine and influenced the formation of future public figures. Guests also joined a three-minute competition of research and artistic performances, where young scientists presented “The Amazing Contribution of Ukrainians to the World”.

The key event of the event was the screening of the Ukrainian documentary “Warriors of Science: Vernadsky Research Base”. The film tells the story of Ukrainian polar explorers at the Academician Vernadsky Station in Antarctica.

During the event, guests were presented with an exhibition called “Hidden Ukrainian Genius”, which showcased the inventions and discoveries of Ukrainian scientists. Overall, the event combined pop culture, science and history to offer viewers a fresh, unexpected look at Ukraine.

The event is organized by the University of Liverpool in collaboration with Sumy State University.
