A lecture for students by the judge of the Summer District Court of Sumy

On November 15, 2023, at the initiative of the Department of Fundamental Jurisprudence and Constitutional Law of the National Institute of Law, an online lecture was held by the judge of the Summer District Court of Sumy, Mykola Shershak, with students of the “Jurisprudence” circle of the Sumy territorial branch of the National Academy of Sciences (leader – V.O. Pankratova). The meeting was attended by the students of the Sadiv Lyceum of the Sadiv Village Council, the Sumy Secondary School of the I-III Degrees No. 4 named after the Hero of Ukraine Oleksandr Anishchenko SMR and the Sumy Specialized School of the I-III Degrees No. 1 named after V. Strelchenko SMR.

The lecture was devoted to the responsibility of minors. First, the judge focused on the theoretical aspects of the topic: the concept of legal responsibility pointed out the age of criminal responsibility.

The next part of the event was devoted to practical aspects: the judge cited statistical data on the commission of offenses by minors and specific cases from judicial practice related to the commission of crimes by juveniles.

We sincerely thank Mykola Ivanovych for an informative and relevant lecture. Such measures are essential for preventing crime among minors and increasing the legal awareness of students.
