On December 4, the Faculty of Fundamental Jurisprudence and Constitutional Law (FFJCL) conducted a workshop titled “Experience in Implementing Public Participation Standards in the EU and Ukraine” for students of the Sady Lyceum. This event was part of the educational project “Citizen Participation: Challenges and European Experience from Ukraine”, implemented under the Erasmus+ Program, Jean Monnet Module.
The purpose of the workshop was to familiarize students with tools of local democracy that they can already utilize at their age. During the session, the students learned to draft electronic appeals, explored the essential steps for submitting petitions, and analyzed the Sady community’s website for information on local democracy tools.
An educational Kahoot quiz and interactive exercises helped reinforce the fundamental steps for applying participatory tools. The students’ active engagement and interest throughout the workshop were particularly noteworthy, as these qualities are essential for fostering the development of civil society in Ukraine.
