Presentation of the educational project “Local Democracy: Best European Practices for Ukraine”

On April 28, 2022, the presentation of the educational project ERASMUS-JMO-2021-HEI-TCH-RSCH -101047645 – “EULOCDEM: Local Democracy: Best European Practices for Ukraine” under the Erasmus + program Jean Monnet took placе.

Project coordinator Victoria Pankratova, project executors Olga Stogova and Volodymyr Sukhonos presented and outlined its purpose, goals, and main stages of implementation. The event was joined by Olena Gorobchenko, Deputy Head of the International Cooperation Department of SSU, who spoke about the experience of SSU participation in Jean Monnet projects of the EU Erasmus + Program.

The presentation of the project gathered a broad audience of participants. The event was joined by teachers and students of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine, V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Lviv State University of Internal Affairs, Sumy State Pedagogical University, named after AS Makarenko, Sumy branch of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, Sumy State University, representatives of public organizations, teachers of Sumy and Sumy region and students of schools of Sumy.

In the framework of the project, in addition to the development and teaching of the training course “Local Democracy: Best European Practices for Ukraine” for 2022, the following activities are planned:

– round table “Best practices of decentralization: the experience of EU countries for Ukraine” (May 27, 2022);

– online student and student debate “Experience of implementing quality governance standards at the local level in the EU and Ukraine” (October 2022).

The second part of the event was practical. It was dedicated to the speakers’ reports: Anton Avksentyev, expert of the NGO “Observatory of Democracy,” and Oksana Korsun, representative of the NGO” Sumy Public Circle. ” The speeches concerned research and practical results of the activities of public organizations representing speakers.
