On February 28, the senior lecturer of the department, Victoria PANKRATOVA, took part in a public discussion of the concept of reform of parliament. The organizers were: the Center for Political and Legal Reforms, Active Community and Public Union “Coalition Reanimation Package of Reforms.”
The purpose of the public discussion: presentation and discussion of the Concept of Parliamentarianism Reform in the context of the restoration of Ukraine, prepared by experts of the Center for Political and Legal Reforms (CPPR), and receiving suggestions from citizens regarding its content.
The event has divided into several parts:
– speeches by experts, during which they presented the concept of parliamentary reform;
– work in groups where participants discussed the following issues:
1) What is the optimal number of members of the Parliament? Why?
2) How can you effectively combat legal spam?
3) Is it necessary to reform parliamentary control? If so, which one?
4) What should be the rights of the parliamentary opposition?
5) Is it appropriate to adopt a code of ethics for a member of Parliament? If so, why?
6) How do you assess the openness of the Parliament during the war?
Based on the results of the public discussion, a finalized document will have created, which will become part of the “Vision of Ukraine – 2030” in the “Institutional Organization of Public Power” section.
