Students of a Lyceum in the Sumy Region Explored European Experience in Civic Participation at a Workshop Delivered by Lecturers from the Department of Fundamental Jurisprudence and Constitutional Law.

On December 4, the teachers of the department of fundamental jurisprudence and constitutional law held a workshop “Experience of Implementing Public Participation Standards in the EU and Ukraine” for 10th grade students of the Sadivskyi Lyceum. The event is part of the educational project “Citizen Participation: Challenges and European Experience from Ukraine”, Erasmus+ program, Jean Monnet Module direction.

The goal of the workshop is to familiarize students with public participation tools that they can use at their age. Students of the Sadivskyi Lyceum learned to create an electronic appeal, got acquainted with the main steps for submitting petitions, analyzed the website of Sadivska Community for information about public participation tools. Educational kahut and interactive exercises helped students remember the main steps in applying participation tools. It is worth noting the activity and interest of students during the workshop, which is extremely important for the development of civil society in Ukraine.
