On 16–19 June 2026, Sumy State University hosted the COIL Forum of the Ukrainian University Alliance titled “Virtual International Cooperation and COIL as a Tool for the Internationalization of Higher Education,” bringing together representatives of Ukrainian and international universities, researchers, and global partners.
Within the Forum, Associate Professor of the Department of Fundamental Jurisprudence and Constitutional Law at Sumy State University, Viktoriia Pankratova, shared her experience of international online collaboration. In her presentation, she introduced COIL as a space for team-based learning and intercultural interaction, and highlighted the experience of implementing international projects with universities in Mexico and Brazil.
A dedicated session featured a presentation with Professor Mario Di Stefano Filho from the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas (Brazil), during which the results of the COIL module implementation and the experience of collaboration within this joint educational initiative were presented.
The Department’s involvement in COIL initiatives contributes to the implementation of modern educational practices, the expansion of international networks, and the development of global competencies among future legal professionals.
