On October 11, Associate Professor Viktoria PANKRATOVA from the Department of Fundamental Jurisprudence and Constitutional Law delivered an interactive lecture for 9th-grade students of Sumy Secondary School I-III Degrees №4 named after Hero of Ukraine Oleksandr Anishchenko, Sumy City Council. The topic of the lecture was “Modern States: Legal Aspect.”
During the session, the students had the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of the main features of the state and their legal significance. Through interactive exercises, the students actively participated in discussions, exploring concepts such as sovereignty, the separation of powers, human rights, and the rule of law. Special attention was given to the discussion of the role of the rule of law in the modern world and the principles on which its functioning is based.
The lecture was conducted in the format of an active dialogue, where students not only listened to the material but also independently tried to identify key features of the state, comparing them with contemporary examples from international practice. This approach helped them better understand how legal principles are applied in real life.
The lesson concluded with a Kahoot quiz – an interactive online test that allowed students to check their knowledge and demonstrate their ability to think logically and creatively. Based on the quiz results, the most active participants received honorary awards, which increased their motivation to continue studying law.
Such events are an important element of legal education for young people, as they help students realize the importance of legal knowledge and its application in modern society.
